South London Laces was set up in 2016.
Founded by Beth Towle and Em Hill, South London started life as a weekly turn up and play futsal session in a youth centre sports hall in Battersea.
What started as a small recreational pilot project, looking to get more people playing and enjoying football, South now grown into a fully-fledged club that runs 3 sessions a week, has two 11-a-side teams and one 5-a-side team, and works across the London Boroughs of Wandsworth, Lambeth and Southwark to support more women and non-binary people playing.
South London Laces is part of our wider family of Laces Community Clubs. Together with our sister clubs in Hackney, Limehouse and Manchester, we support over one thousand women and girls through football.

THIS IS WHAT A FOOTBALL CLUB LOOKS LIKE.
ALL THE PLAYERS WHO CAN PLAY. WHO WANT TO PLAY. WHO MIGHT PLAY.
THIS ISN'T ABOUT ABILITY, BUT OPPORTUNITY. NO NEED TO TRY OUT. JUST TRY. HERE, WINNING ISN'T MEASURED IN GOALS. IT'S ABOUT FUN. IT'S ABOUT PROGRESS. IT'S ABOUT PEOPLE.
PLAY ONCE A WEEK. ONCE A MONTH. ONCE A YEAR. PLAY WITH YOUR KIDS WATCHING. PLAY BETWEEN SHIFTS. OR BETWEEN JOBS. JUST PLAY.
IF YOU'RE PLAYING, YOU'RE ONE OF US.
We are all part of our football community, and we're here to help each other.
We lean on each other like sisters. Whether this is a hug after conceding a goal, or offering support when we see someone struggling. No ask is too big.
Everyone comes with their own lived experience. We're all equal and we're all different and we respect everyone for who they are.
We freely give each other our time, knowledge and trust in the hope that we are making our community a better place by doing so.
